By the late '70 the sport of indoor motocross was really starting to grow. Stadiums all around the country were pacing in fifty-plus-thousand fans to watch the races and Harley Davidson thought they wanted part of the action. So, the Harley Davidson/AMF MX250was born. They hired long time Honda rider and winner of the first Super Bowl of Motocross, held in the LA Collosium, Marty Tripes to ride it. I think Marty actually won a couple of races on the MX250 but Harleys involvement in the sport only lasted a couple seasons. There were rumors floating around a couple of years ago about them making a return to the sport however they have yet to materialize. Anybody know anything about that?
