Yesterdays Motocross Machines

In 1972 if you were into the up-and-coming sport of motocross, you probably spent a lot of time drooling over the machines being imported into the states from Europe. It was also the last year the the European machines would really dominate the sport. By 1973, all of the Japanese manufactures recognized the popularity of the sport and decided to to jump in. First came the Honda Elsinore, then the Yamaha YZs, Suzuki TMs and Kawasaki KX. Here are a couple really nice examples of a '72 Penton 125 and CZ 250 freshly restored by Vintage Iron. We've come a long way since then for sure.
