This is the bike that I replaced my Suzuki DL1000 with. It's the 2013 Triumph Tiger 800xc. It's pretty much the same style as the Strom but a bit more modern in every way. It doesn't make as much power (95hp) as the Suzuki but, it weighs about eighty pounds less so it still feels strong. It also feels more like a dirt bike than the Strom did, too. It's got a 21" front wheel, motocross style handlebars and nine inched of suspension travel, front and rear. I'm sure you could ride it just about anywhere, if it had a set of true knobby tires. Anyway, if you ride dirt bikes, you can tell by looking at this thing why I haven't been updating this blog. It's a f#&@in situation.

Born Free 5...
Best event of the year will be bigger and badder than ever. You need to get out there and show these guys some love. They've been sticking their necks out to make this happen and they make it happen in a big way.
We'll be there again this year, for sure. If you're out there, come by our booth and say hello!

Greg's Shovel...
This thing is just about ready to roll, as well. Traditional style mixed with a bunch of modern functional parts that make it a better bike to ride. We'll get the tags and get it on the road soon too.
The Browne File...
Mr. Browne is ready to hit the streets. Got the plate and tags this weekend. We'll put some time on it before we turn it over to him. Seem to run well so far but, you never really know til you take it out into traffic. Should be a lot of fun. Eric Sedei, Harley Davidson, Paughco, Performance Machine, Biltwell, Roland Sands Designs, ColorZone, Pacman and Specialized Coatings Thank you...

Another Non Chopper Post...
Saying goodbye to an old friend, my 2005 Suzuki DL1000 V-Strom. I got this to keep at home so I didn't have to drive back to the shop when I wanted to ride. Some people say it's the ugliest bike ever made. But, if you've ever ridden one, you quickly learn not to judge a book by it's cover. It looks kind of like a giant scooter but when you sit on it, it feels like a giant dirt bike. Then, when you fire it up you know it's neither of those. It's powered by a 996cc TL 1000 style motor tuned to make it's power in the low to mid range, 105hp @9900rpm in a chassis with quasi off road suspension. It's like an FXDXT with roid-rage. It may be the best all around bike I've ever owned, and a lot of bang for the buck. Anyway, someone made me an offer on it that I couldn't refuse so, I had to let it go.
In it's place is one of the newer style Triumphs. We've had a few of them in the shop lately and I was really surprised how much I liked them. Definitely more bike than I ever thought they were, for sure. I'll post some pics of it later.
Mister Browne's Basket Case
The frame came back from Specialized Coating last week, they always do a great job. It's done in a steel blue with an extra clear coat. This thing is taking a little longer than expected due to some issues with the first motor he brought us. But, that's behind us now and we're moving on. The paint work is in good hands and should be ready soon. Stick around...
