1979 Yamaha RD 400 Daytona Special
Went to the Troy Lee/Moto Lab show yesterday and saw a lot of killer vintage bikes. One in particular was this Yamaha Daytona Special. I had one back when they were new, the sound they make is unmistakable and I heard this thing coming from three blocks away! Not the best handling bike ever, not the best brakes either. But is wasn't uncommon to leave a bike, with twice it's CCs in the dust, on the rear wheel. If you've ever ridden one, you know what I'm talking about. They were a blast to ride!

For Sale '71 Yamaha G7 80cc
Somewhere in my garage there's this very clean and original little motorcycle. Since it has just sat there taking up space for the past twenty or so years, I think it's time to let someone else take care of it. It would make a great pit bike or whatever. These pics were taken about a year ago and it ran at the time so, it should run again. I have the original Cali small pink slip/title and original keys as well. it was purchased new from Custom City Yamaha in Compton Ca. in '72.

We just got the word and we're stoked! Some of our parts will now be available through Custom Chrome. We shipped the first two orders out about week ago so, they should show them in stock soon. If anyone has any questions about any of the parts, please give us a call at the shop.

Behind the controls with Geico Powersports Honda Justin Barcia
This is justa glimps of what it takes to win an AMA Outdoor Motocross event. They run this pace for thirty minutes + 2 laps, twice a day on race day. From the sound of it though, the mechanic is as inportant as the rider. This bike is taking a beating!

Jack "Packman" McCann
A couple weeks ago, we were in need of some pin striping and Mark over at Joyrides told us Jack could take care of it so, I gave him a call. After a short conversation with him about what our customer was looking for he said, no problem, I got it.

Fun Stuff
Being a regular motorcycle shop, that helps just about anyone who wants to ride, means not always getting to do the fun stuff. This week, we have a couple of Softail in need of electrical work. An 883 Sportster getting a complete Buell 1200 top end set up. An FXR getting a faring, a couple of paint jobs and all kind of other stuff. But hey, everyone wants to ride so, we'll do what ever we can to help them. But, every once in a while we get to do a fun project. We finished this shovel a few months ago and finally got it registered so you should see it bombing the streets of So Cal soon. Stay tune though, we have a couple fun projects going on now.

J Geirman... Garage Builder
Looks like James is headed back out to the track. Back in the early '90s, he built the car in the first picture and ran it at most of the big west coast VW events. It was a low ten second car that ran up near 120mph. The picture taken about six seconds before the car in the left lane broke an axle and made a hard right into James lane. James tried to swerve to avoid hitting it and spun his car into the guard rail at over 100mph, damaging the car beyond repair.
Well, about a year ago, he found this '63 and after almost 20 years, (married with a great family) is well on his way to getting back in the mix. I took these shots of the chassis/roll cage a month or so ago. He said it's on the ground now with wheels and tires. While his last car was a race only affair, he's telling me this one will be a dual sport. I"ll follow this one til it's done for sure. Stay tuned, he always does nice work.
